Lieven Leroy

Lieven Leroy is an adventurous photographer, dedicated to sharing extraordinary moments. He has trekked through the steppes of Mongolia, the savanna of Rwanda, the Inca Trail, and more. He has been a fire performer at Burning Man and a dancer in the Carnaval parade in Rio. And with each adventure, he keeps a camera close at hand. His photography seeks to convey this spirit of exploration.

A multilingual and open communicator, Lieven approaches his art with honesty and integrity. With each new project, he is driven to learn, to adapt, and to continue telling stories through the camera.

Lieven co-founded Tied by the Sea, a fine art photography company specializing in the portrayal of human connection through the practice of rope and Shibari. This work reflects his appreciation for human interaction, and combines it with technical expertise to create a visual experience that celebrates intimacy, vulnerability, and craftsmanship.

Grace

Born and raised in China, Grace's journey into the art world has been transformative. Limited access to artistic expression in her youth ignited a deep desire to explore the arts in the United States—a path that has become profoundly fulfilling.

Her journey of self-discovery took a pivotal turn when she met Lieven, who introduced her to the art of rope. As a survivor of emotional abuse, Grace has spent over a decade in therapy and healing, working through her past while managing health challenges that have affected her mobility.

Through the practice of shibari, Grace found a new way to embrace vulnerability and reconnect her heart with her body. This journey has opened her to transformative experiences of healing and self-acceptance. Often appearing without makeup, she’s unafraid to share her authentic self, even humorously acknowledging that she "doesn’t have a model's body." Standing confidently in front of the camera, Grace embraces her vulnerability, telling her story to inspire other women in their journeys of self-discovery and self-love.

Together, Grace and Lieven co-founded Tied by the Sea, a project inspired by a photograph capturing an intimate moment between Grace and a rope partner. This emotionally resonant moment sparked their desire to share her journey with others, celebrating the beauty and strength in vulnerability.
